Ernie Carnahan, CFI, CFII, Owner

Ernie has been flight instructing for over 30 years with thousands of hours of teaching. He has taught thousands of students from the UK and surrounding countries. Every year, many of his former students return to Florida after receiving their pilot's license to combine holiday with some hour building.  Ernie favors primary instruction and enjoys teaching someone with 0 flying experience. He is the owner of Trade Winds Flight School.

Mark Hansen, CFII, MEI

Ratings held: CFI, CFII, MEI, IGI.

Qualifications: Over 1200 hours flight instruction given.

Training provided: Private through ATP. Tail wheel training.

I am an easy-going Instructor who loves flying and enjoys sharing the experience with others. I like teaching motivated students who are ready to learn. I specialize in finish-up and accelerated courses. I have a good working relationship with the local examiners and know how to match students to examiners with similar personalities.

Jason Leonard, ATP, CFII, MEI

Ratings held: CFI, CFII, MEI, ATP, Learjet 35 PIC Type, Canadair CRJ-900 SIC Type

Training provided: Multi, Multi-IFR, Multi-Commercial, CFI/MEI, ATP

Experience: Over 3200 hours total time, over 1200 hours flight instruction given, 800 hours Learjet, 700 hours CRJ-900

A few words from Jason...

I like to get my hands dirty and learn how systems work. I enjoy analyzing and taking things apart. I love learning about how one system interacts, or inhibits another. I take pride in teaching especially when the other person is interested in the subject. I am proud to have a 95% first-time pass rate with nearly 90 students in a period of two and a half years.

Tom Gilmore, Master Certified Flight Instructor

Tom Gilmore is a Gold Seal Flight Instructor, Master CFI currently into his 4th 2 year renewal. He has logged over 14,000 flight hours and has been instructing for over 37 years. He was the owner/operator and chief pilot of an FAA and VA approved 141/135 flight operation for 13 years. Tom was an FAA Accident Prevention Counselor during the time he owned his flight school. He also taught several ground schools for many of the Detroit area colleges and universities.

Tom is currently a full time flight instructor and owner/operator of Gilmore Aviation Services. The service primarily is engaged in advanced flight training. This training specializes in advanced IFR and pilot safety proficiency programs. He is the president of the Florida Aero Club and does seminars on the Garmin 430/530.

Tom has written articles for several magazines such as NAFI Mentor, and IFR and IFR Refresher. He has a book that has been published by ASA, "Teaching Confidence in the Clouds."

Dan Taylor, CFI, CFII, AGI, IGI

Dan is a former Flight Safety Senior Academic Instructor. His ratings includes CFI, CFII, AGI and IGI. He has over 20 yeas of teaching and course development  and 11.5 years of experience with a major flight training school. He is an experienced CFI/CFII academic instructor ready to prepare you for any oral exam and we are happy to have Dan as our Ground Instructor!

Bill Schiller, CFI

Bill has been active in aviation since 1974 with approximately 3000 hours of teaching experience. His ratings include SEL, Private Pilot, Commercial, Instrument and CFI. He provides Private, Commercial, CFI, Recreational & Light Sport Aircraft instruction.

I received all of my flight training in Ohio. I enjoy soloing new students. It brings back memories of the day I soloed.

Richard "Dickie" Sinnott, CFI

Ratings held: ATP SE & ME. Learjet. Commercial Airplane & Helicopter. Airplane Instrument.

Training provided: Primary through advanced in both Airplane & Helicopter. Tail wheel training.

Hobbies: Riding my motorcycle.

David Bolinksy, CFI, CFII, MEI

David provides Private - Advanced training. He has logged over 1400 hours of flight time.
